About College

The College of Veterinary Medicine was established with the approval of the advisory office in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at its seventy-seventh session in 1993, and its administrative and scientific structure was established according to Ministerial Order No. (1-5-5389) on May 8, 1993, so that teaching begins at the beginning of the academic year 1994- 1995 and eighteen courses graduated until the academic year 2015-2016. The Anatomy, Histology and Embryology Branch was opened, then the Physiology and Chemistry Branch was introduced, then the Internal Medicine Branch, the Surgery and Obstetrics Branch, the Microbiology and Parasitology Branch, then the Diseases and Poultry and Fish Branch were opened. Currently, the College includes seven scientific branches and a Disease Research Unit Shared.
In the academic year 2006-2007, the resumption of work began at the Al-Nouriyeh research station, which is a research station concerned with both the animal and agricultural aspects. It is located on a land of 1600 dunums and includes many facilities that provide the appropriate scientific environment for conducting scientific research. This station included reconstruction and rehabilitation by the Diwaniyah Governorate and the Presidency of the University to be a “scientific” and “vital” economic tributary to the University of Al-Qadisiyah. Likewise, the Arabian Horse Center was established in Al-Qadisiyah in 2002. It is a specialized scientific center concerned with the care and rehabilitation of Arabian horses in Iraq in a scientific and accurate manner. /5/ 2005, which is a unit concerned with animal and human health together. It was created by the college due to the importance of these diseases and the fact that the country is endemic with some serious common diseases such as watery cysts, tuberculosis bacillus, brucellosis (communicable abortion disease) in addition to the role of the college in showing special care for livestock

In the name of the educational and administrative staff at Al-Qadisiyah University, I congratulate our honorable students for their graduation for the past year. Let us welcome the new year with an auspicious return to attendance, which restores the academic scene to its realistic splendor and effectiveness with serious participation in creating a future full of knowledge and glory. At a time when our University of Glory crowned its annual march with its thirty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of its sober scientific edifice last year… We would like to remind you that this great edifice would not have reached this lofty status had it not been for the efforts of the pioneering professors, the living among them, and the departed beside their Lord, leaders, professors, and associates.

Today, the College of Veterinary Medicine, Al-Qadisiyah University, is taking rapid steps at all levels: scientific, educational, and providing services to the community… And the website of our college in its new look is a cause for pride and honor because we found in it the framing of the positive aspects and the horizontal and vertical progress in the college and the university as a result of the concerted efforts of the college’s affiliates, professors, employees, and students… Those efforts that yielded good fruits are referred to as Lebanon
I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Center for Computer and Internet Services in the Presidency of the University and to the Director of the website in the college for their wonderful efforts, which indicated their true affiliation to their university, their college and our country, Iraq….
