The Department of Surgery and Obstetrics at the college of Veterinary Medicine/University of Qadisiyah held a seminar entitled (General anesthesia in birds).
Objective of the seminar: –
The importance of general anesthesia in birds.
Summary :
Injection and inhalation types of anesthesia were discussed. Moreover, scientific doses for different types of birds and exposure to some complications caused by general anesthesia were also detailed during the seminar.
Results
the general anesthesia in birds is important in terms of conducting some radiological examinations and surgical operations. In addition; the recommended scientific doses must be followed to avoid the occurrence of overdose problems.
Recommendations:
General anesthesia should be used in birds when performing surgeries and the scientific doses of each bird species should be followed.
